Nigeria's Yakubu Aiyegbeni aka The Yak is the first Nigerian player to score 100 goals in the prestigious English Premier League (EPL) since he started his sojourn with Portsmouth in 2003. He has scored EPL goals for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton and Blackburn Rovers where he made it 101 goals which was against Wigan Athletic in the 2011/2012 season.

Yakubu became the second African striker to score a century of goals after Chelsea FC’s Didier Drogba who is Ivorian.

The second quickest goal scored in the English FA Cup final was scored by Roberto Di Matteo of Chelsea FC within 42 seconds in the 1997 final at Wembley Stadium against Bryan Robson's Middlesbrough side. Di-Matteo is half Swiss and Italian and he is currently the caretaker manager of Chelsea.

The first was Faustino Asprilla who played for Newcastle United from 1995–98, followed by Hamilton Ricard played for Middlesbrough from 1998–2002. The third man is Juan Pablo Ángel played for Aston Villa from 2000–20007, the penultimate Colombian is Jhon Viáfara who played for Portsmouth from 2005–2006 while the last man who is still playing is Hugo Rodallega who joined Wigan Athletic in 2008.

Fabrizio Ravanelli known as the "White Feather" in recognition of his prematurely whitened hair, started and finished his playing career in his local town team Perugia Calcio in Italy. He scored a hat-trick for Bryan Robson's Middlesbrough on his debut against Liverpool FC on the opening day of the 1996–97 English Premier League (EPL) season. Ravanelli's signature celebration when scoring a goal was pulling his shirt over his head and running around the field.
