The extinct UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup is the first European club title to be won by Chelsea FC in the 1970/1971 season where they defeated Real Madrid C.F in the final after a replay at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, Greece with club legend Peter Osgood scoring a goal each in both matches. Chelsea FC was managed at that time by Dave Sexton.

Ghanaian born French defender, Marcel Desailly is the first player to win the UEFA Champions League in two consecutive seasons with different clubs. His first triumph was with Olympique Marseille of France in the 1992/1993 season against AC Milan at the Olympiastadion in Munich while in the following season (1993/1994), he won it with AC Milan when they defeated FC Barcelona in Athens Karaiskakis Stadium where he scored the last goal in a 4-0 thrashing.

Peter Osgood

The late Peter Osgood is one of Chelsea FC's finest player as he was nicknamed Wizard of Oz. In 1971, he was part of the Chelsea FC team that lifted the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, defeating Real Madrid CF 2–1 in a replay at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens, after the original tie had finished 1–1, with Osgood scoring Chelsea's goal in that game. In the replay he scored again, the opener, as they went on to win 2–1.
