As respected as Carlo Ancelotti is in Italian club football with Reggiana, FC Parma, Juventus and AC Milan, he only won the Italian Serie A Scudetto only once in the 2003/2004 season with the Rossoneri from Milan. Montenegrian Predrag Mijatović scored Real Madrid's winning and only goal against Juventus in the final of the 1997/1998 UEFA Champions League season at the Amsterdam ArenA which was incidentally his first goal for that season under German coach Jupp Heynckes

He was signed from Valencia CF in the summer of 1996 after he scored 28 goals in 40 Spanish Primera Liga matches to lead them to second position which got him got him the Spanish Footballer of the Year honours in the 1995/1996 season.

Portuguese football legend, Luis Filipe Madeira Caeiro Figo, commonly known as Luis Figo signed for both FC Parma and Juventus from Sportin Lisbon in 1994. The ensuing furore caused FIFA to ban him from the Italian Serie A for two years. FC Barcelona under Dutch coach, Johan Cruyff then stepped in with a £2.25 million transfer fee and the rest is history.

Giovanni Trapattoni aka Trap is one of the most successful Italian club manager of all time. In 8 years from 1978 - 1986, he guided the Old Lady of Turin Juventus F.C. to the Toyota Intercontinental Cup (now FIFA World Club Cup), UEFA Champions Cup (now UEFA Champions League), UEFA Cup Winners Cup and UEFA Cup (all now merged as the UEFA Europa League), UEFA Super Cup, 7 Italian Serie A calcios and 2 Coppa Italia. He recently claim he turn down an offer to rejoin the club to stay put as Manager of the Republic of Ireland.

The first man to win all five major international trophies was Gaetano Scirea, who played for Juventus and Italy from 1975 to 1987. He won the FIFA World Cup in Espana 1982, UEFA Champions Cup (now UEFA Champions League) in 1985, the defunct UEFA Cup Winners Cup and the defunct UEFA Cup (all now the UEFA Europa Cup), UEFA Super Cup, Toyota Intercontinental Club Cup (now the FIFA World Club Cup), seven Scudetti titles and 2 Coppa Italia in a glitterring career as a defender, he was never sent-off in 686 career matches.
