Marcos Evangelista de Moraes was born June 7, 1970, better known as Cafu, is the most internationally capped player for the Selacao of Brazil with 142 caps with 5 goals. 

He earned his first cap in a friendly against the La Furia Roja of Spain on September 12, 1990, and played sparingly for Brazil in the early 1990s, making the USA 94 FIFA World Cup roaster as a substitute. He appeared in the final against the Azzuris of Italy at the Rose Bowl, following an injury to Jorginho in the 22nd minute.

He is the only player ever to have appeared in three FIFA World Cup finals, having won two, USA 94 and Korea/Japan 2002. Cafu also hold the record of winning the most number of matches in FIFA World Cups with 16.

The United States vs Switzerland match on June 18, 1994, at the Pontiac Silverdome for USA 94 was the first to be played indoors in FIFA World Cup history. Grass was grown by Michigan State University and was the first time since 1965 (the failed attempt at Astrodome) that natural turf was used in an indoor stadium in the United States. To date, only Sapporo Dome in 2002 and Veltins Arena in 2006 later followed to host indoors game in FIFA World Cup history.

For the Russia national team, Vladimir Beschastnykh has scored 26 goals in 71 caps, his first coming in 1992. The 26 make him a national leader, if Soviet-era goals are not accounted (Oleg Blokhin had 42 for the USSR National Team). One of these goals came in the Korea/Japan 2002 FIFA World Cup against Belgium; Beschastnykh also played in the USA'94 FIFA World Cup tournament, as well as in UEFA Euro 96.
