DO YOU KNOW THE LAST SCOTSMAN TO FINISH THE SEASON ENGLISH TOP FLIGHT HIGHEST GOALSCORER?

with 20 goals for Tottenham Hotspur in the 1980/1981 was the last Scotsman to finish the season as English top flight highest goalscorer which is the old English Division One now the English Premier League.


After winning the Scottish Division One now the Scottish Premier League (SPL) title in 1980, he had a four-year spell with London club Spurs, where he won the English FA Cup winners medals in 1981 and 1982 and the UEFA Cup in 1984, where he scored his penalty in the final as Spurs overcame Anderlecht in a shootout. He also scored for Spurs in their defeat by Liverpool FC in the 1982 English Football League Cup final.

He was a member of the Scottish national team at the Espana 1982 and Mexico 1986 FIFA World Cups.

DO YOU KNOW THE CURRENT ALL-TIME TOPSCORER IN THE 15 SEASON OLD SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE (SPL)?

Kris Boyd who played for Kilmanock FC from 2001 - 2006 and Glasgow's Rangers FC from 2006 - 2010 has scored the most goals in the Scottish Premier League (SPL), with 164 goals. 

He broke the previous record of 158, set by Henrik Larsson (who played only for Celtic FC from July 1997 - June 2004), by scoring 5 goals for Rangers FC in a 7–1 win against Dundee United on December 30, 2009. Boyd and Larsson are the only players to have scored more than 100 goals in the SPL, which started in the inaugural 1998/1999 season.

DO YOU KNOW THE CLUB THAT SUFFERED THE HEAVIEST DEFEAT EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE SCOTTISH PREMIER (SPL) LEAGUE FROM CELTIC FC?

On November 6, 2010, Celtic FC set a Scottish Premier League record for the biggest win in SPL history by defeating Aberdeen FC 9-0 at the 46,446 capacity filled Celtic Park in Parkhead.  

Anthony Stokes and Gary Hooper scored an hat-trick each, Josh Magennis scored an own-goal while Joe Ledley and Paddy McCourt completed the routing of Neil Lennon's men.

DO YOU KNOW THE TWO PLAYERS THAT HAVE WON THE EUROPEAN GOLDEN SHOE AWARD TWICE IN A ROW?

Ally McCoist while still playing with Rangers FC of Scotland and Thierry Henry with Arsenal FC of England, are the only players to win the European Golden Shoe formerly known as European Golden Boot in consecutive years.

McCoist did it in the 1991/1992 and 1992/1993 seasons with 34 goals apiece in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) while Henry achieved his in the 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 seasons while playing in the English Premier League (EPL) with 30 and 25 goals respectively.
