Orlando Pirates FC and Mamelodi Sundowns FC are the two South African football clubs to have reached the final of the CAF Champions League. Orlando Pirates also known as the Buccaneers beat ASEC Mimosas of Cote d'Ivoire in the 1995 final while Mamelodi Sundowns lost to Al-Ahly of Egypt in the 2001 final.
