Mervyn Day at 19 years old in the 1974/1975 old English Division One season for West Ham United, became the only goalkeeper to have won the PFA Young Player of the Year Award. Day also became the youngest goalkeeper ever to appear in an English FA Cup Final, in West Ham victory over Fulham FC in the same season.
