The record signing for West Ham United is Matt Jarvis who cost The Hammers a whopping £10 million from Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 24 2012 on a five year contract with an option for an additional year.
Jarvis made his debut for West Ham United on August 25 2012 in a 3–0 away defeat to Swansea City AFC. He scored his first goal for the club on October 1 2012, opening the scoring in a 2-1 win away to Queens Park Rangers.
In the 2011/2012 season, Joey Barton of Queens Park Rangers (QPR) created just 2 assists in the English Premier League (EPL) making him the joint 124th best creator in the league after moving from Newcastle United before the end of the August transfer deadline.
Jamie Pollock scored a spectacular, but funny own-goal that condemned Manchester City to relegation to the third tier for the first time in 1998, whilst keeping Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in the division. As a result, a group of QPR fans thanked him by voting him the "most influential man of the past 2,000 years" in an internet poll, where "Jesus'' came second, apparently. Pollock remarked afterwards: "It was cruel of QPR fans to vote for me because that own goal was the lowest point of my career, but I certainly had a laugh when I heard about the poll."
