The record signing for West Ham United is Matt Jarvis who cost The Hammers a whopping £10 million from Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 24 2012 on a five year contract with an option for an additional year.   

Jarvis made his debut for West Ham United on August 25 2012 in a 3–0 away defeat to Swansea City AFC. He scored his first goal for the club on October 1 2012, opening the scoring in a 2-1 win away to Queens Park Rangers.

Pollock remarked afterwards: "It was cruel of QPR fans to vote for me because that own goal was the lowest point of my career, but I certainly had a laugh when I heard about the poll."
