John Charles of Wales was the only British player to be Italian Serie A highest goalscorer also known as the Capocannoniere. He did this while at Juventus FC in the 1957/1958 season scoring 28 goals and was voted player of the season as the Bianconeri won the Scudetto.
He was never cautioned or sent off during his entire career, due to his philosophy of never kicking or intentionally hurting opposing players. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches, he was nicknamed Il Gigante Buono – The Gentle Giant.
