The only Bolton Wanderers player to score a hat-trick in the English Premier League is German striker Fredi Bobic. His first half hat-trick on April 6 2002 in the 4–1 win against Ipswich Town at the Reebok Stadium ensured Sam Allardyce's Bolton Wanderers stayed up, while effectively sending Ipswich Town down in the 2001/2002 season.

Roy Hodgson was responsible for signing Brede Hangeland for Fulham FC from FC Copenhagen on January 18, 2008. He is currently the captain of the Norwegian National football Team.
