Olympique Lyonnais all-time leading scorer is Fleury Di Nallo, who scored 182 goals while at the club from 1960 to 1974. He is also third behind Moroccan born French midfielder, Serge Chiesa and goalkeeper Gregory Coupet in all time appearances having played in 489 matches during his 14-year stint at the club.
Despite Di Nallo's impressive goalscoring record, he doesn't hold the record for most goals scored during a French Division 1 league season (now Frernch Ligue 1). That distinction goes to Bourg-en-Bresse-born André Guy who notched 25 goals, which he attained in the 1968–1969 season.
Brazilian Sonny Anderson emerged as French Ligue 1 TopScorer three times while playing for A.S. Monaco and Olympique Lyon in his playing career. In the 1995/1996 season for AS Monaco, he scored 21 goals, in the 1999/2000 season (after returning to France after a two season stint with F.C. Barcelona) he scored 23 goals for Olympique Lyon and in the next season, he netted 22 goals.
Juninho Pernambucano who had a glowing career with Olympique Lyon of France is a renowned free-kick specialist and the method he uses for long-range free kicks is frequently "Knuckle Balling," where the ball has almost no spinning motion during flight. A successful knuckle ball will "move" or "wobble" in the air unpredictably, making it difficult for the goal keeper to save.
