DO YOU KNOW THE FIRST FOREIGN MANAGER OUTSIDE BRITAIN AND IRELAND TO MANAGE A TOP-FLIGHT CLUB IN ENGLAND?
Jozef Venglos the pathfinder
Slovakian Jozef Vengloš is the first manager not from Britain or Ireland to take charge of a top-flight club in England. He was appointed manager of Aston Villa for the 1990/1991 season after he remarkably led Czechoslovakia to the quarter-finals of the Italia'90 FIFA World Cup. He left Aston Villa after one season when they finished just two places above the English First Division relegation zone.
